Leeds United held one of the best home records in the Championship, and picked up where they left off on Monday night. The Whites recorded a shock victory over Everton.
Leeds dominated most of the proceedings, and the Toffees were lucky not to have been behind by more goals during the 90 minutes. However, the finishing from Daniel Farke’s men let the team down in crucial moments. It took a late penalty from Lukas Nmecha to seal all three points.

It took a while before VAR reviewed and confirmed the penalty, and during that time, Jordan Pickford could be seen behind his goal. He picked up his water bottle, which has penalty notes written on it. It was also a tactic to delay the penalty taker to put pressure on him.
Lukas Nmecha ultimately scored from the spot, but Pickford guessed the direction correctly and nearly made the save.
The whole sequence did not go down well with Jamie O’Hara, who was furious with Pickford. Speaking on talkSport, he called for a ban on similar future incidents:
“Jordan Pickford, the water bottle situation right, he goes to his water bottle, it’s obviously got a lot of information written on it, I’m not having that.
“I think that needs to be knocked on the head, I think it has got to be banned.”
“I think you’ve got to ban anything being written on the water bottles.”
Daniel Farke’s side will be excited to grab three points, as their next game is away to Arsenal on Saturday.
