Nottingham Forest have finalised an agreement with Juventus to bring in midfielder Douglas Luiz, sources have confirmed to TBR Football .
Nottingham Forest have Europa League football on the horizon and are busy in the transfer window.
Forest lost Anthony Elanga to Newcastle United, but new signing Dan Ndoye opened his Premier League account against Brentford on Sunday.
Morgan Gibbs-White penned a new Forest contract, while Omari Hutchinson, James McAtee and Arnaud Kalimuendo have all joined Forest in recent days.
Nuno Espirito Santo isn’t done yet, with former Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz now nearing a move to the City Ground.

Nottingham Forest strike Douglas Luiz deal
TBR Football revealed over the weekend that Forest were closing in on a deal for Luiz, and now they have concluded terms on a transfer worth around £25million with the Turin giants.
Indeed, we revealed Forest’s interest in Luiz back in July, and we can now confirm that Luiz has agreed a five-year deal that will see the former Aston Villa star return to the Midlands.
Forest have beaten Everton to Luiz after David Moyes pushed hard to land the Brazilian, but Forest – who are enjoying a brilliant summer in the transfer window – have won the day.
The deal ends a long chase for Forest’s Global Head of Football Edu, who tried to sign Luiz for Arsenal back in 2022.
“Edu has worked hard to finally get his hands on Douglas Luiz, this is a major coup for the club,” said TBR Football’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey.
“Luiz wanted to come back to England, and Forest are now spending around £100m in four days – remarkable recruitment from Forest.
“Luiz joining McAtee, Hutchinson and Kalimuendo – to go along with Igor Jesus, Jair Cunha, Dan Ndoye and new deals for Morgan Gibbs-White and Nuno – what a window for Forest, there are few teams in Europe who are as happy as them,” he added.
Douglas Luiz stats in the Premier League
Luiz signed for Manchester City in 2017, but was loaned to partner club Girona for two years amid work permit issues.
City then sold the Brazilian to Villa in 2019, with Luiz going on to play more than 200 times in all competitions for Villa.
Luiz played 175 times for Villa in the Premier League, scoring 20 goals along the way, including nine in the 2023-24 season.
Juventus pounced to sign Luiz last summer, but he ended the Serie A campaign with no goals in 19 games.
Now heading back to the Premier League, Luiz will join Forest and will be in line to face Unai Emery’s side at Villa Park on 3 January 2026.
