Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard has agreed a new contract with the club, earning a significant pay rise that reflects his growing importance under manager Mikel Arteta, according to reports from The Athletic’s James McNicholas.
The 30-year-old Belgian, who arrived from Brighton & Hove Albion in January 2023 for £27 million, will see his weekly wages climb from £90,000 into six figures. The deal, however, does not extend the length of his contract, which currently runs until 2027.
Arsenal opened talks several months ago to reward Trossard for his contributions on and off the pitch. Despite interest from Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad and clubs across Europe, the forward reaffirmed his commitment to the Emirates, prioritising stability and his role in Arteta’s long-term project.

Since joining, Trossard has made 123 appearances and scored 28 goals, becoming a reliable and versatile option in Arsenal’s attack. His ability to step up in decisive moments, including goals in Champions League ties against Sevilla, Porto and Bayern Munich has strengthened his status within the squad.

The contract adjustment comes as the Gunners continue to build depth, with summer arrivals including Viktor Gyokeres, Noni Madueke and Martin Zubimendi. Though linked with Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze, Arteta has signalled his intent to retain experienced figures like Trossard to maintain balance within the squad.

Sporting director Andrea Berta, who took up his role in March 2025, was central to the negotiations. Berta’s talks with Trossard emphasised both the club’s faith in him and the player’s determination to stay in North London, despite lucrative offers elsewhere.
Trossard’s new terms secure his immediate future at Arsenal, but with no extension beyond 2027, questions remain over a possible departure when his contract enters its final stages in 2026. For now, though, his focus is firmly on Arsenal’s next Premier League clash against Leeds United at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
