EFL coach says there's a player at Arsenal who's even better than Bukayo Saka and Alexander Isak

Arsenal have one of the best squads in the Premier League.

The Gunners have finished second in each of the last three seasons and even made it into the semi-final of the Champions League in the 2024/25 campaign.

Mikel Arteta deserves a lot of credit for the squad he has built over the years, and that group has become stronger now with six new signings.

Arsenal fans are excited about the arrivals, but one player who was signed a couple of years ago has now received some big praise.

Wrexham coach says Arsenal star Declan Rice is better than Bukayo Saka, Alexander Isak and more

Arsenal smashed their transfer record to sign Declan Rice from West Ham United.

The England international was Mikel Arteta’s top target in the summer of 2023, and the fact that nobody has said a bad word about his price tag shows just how good he has been.

Rice was even voted as Arsenal’s Player of the Season in 2024/25, and he will once again be key for the Gunners as they look to end their Premier League drought.

EFL side Wrexham’s first-team coach, David Jones, who played for Manchester United in the past, appeared on a video on Goal USA.

The 40-year-old was asked to choose between some of the best players in the world, and he chose Rice over many big names.

Jones picked the Arsenal number 41 over Bukayo Saka, Mohamed Salah, Rodri, Alexander Isak, Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford, Cole Palmer, Morgan Rogers, Alexis Mac Allister and Erling Haaland.

The only player Jones chose over Rice was Manchester City legend Kevin De Bruyne.

Declan Rice showed something that Arsenal fans had not seen vs Manchester United

Rice has been one of the most consistent players in the world over the last two years.

The England international has remained solid throughout his Arsenal career and has barely ever had a bad game in the famous red and white.

However, against Manchester United in the opening game of the season, the Arsenal midfielder showed that he is only human.

Gary Neville claimed that Rice couldn’t have been worse against the Red Devils – he was not great at all.

Arteta had to take him off in the 83rd minute when Arsenal were defending their lead, which is something that never happens, especially when the man replacing him was Mikel Merino.

Rice will know that he can’t have such a bad game again, and we are sure he will fare much better against Leeds United on Saturday.
