Manchester United have knocked back the chance to cash in on Harry Amass permanently this summer.
According to the Daily Mail, PSV submitted a bid last week but Man United only want a loan deal.
Amass was left out of Ruben Amorim’s pre-season squad, with the club already deciding that regular minutes on loan would be his next step.
The 18-year-old made his long-awaited debut for the Red Devils against Leicester City in March.
He went on to feature six times for the first team during the 2024-25 campaign, showing glimpses of his promise.
His breakthrough season was capped by winning the coveted Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award.
Many believed that Amass would finally get regular chances with the first team and compete with Patrick Dorgu for the starting left wing-back berth.
However, United signed Paraguay youth international Diego Leon this summer and included him in the senior set-up.
With no European football, United are set to play fewer games.
Apart from Dorgu and Leon, Diogo Dalot could also operate as a left wing-back.
Amass needs regular game time to refine his raw ability and fulfil his enormous potential.
The teenager has attracted loan interest from around 15 clubs, including several Championship outfits.
We believe a spell in the Championship would serve as the perfect litmus test.
There is no doubt that he is a fantastic full-back who possesses great attacking flair.
However, he must add physical strength to his arsenal to withstand the demands of top-flight football.
He should look at fellow defender Leny Yoro for motivation, as the Frenchman has undergone extensive training this summer and joined the squad much leaner and fitter.
