America’s Sweethearts are officially headed back to Netflix! That’s right, the highly popular streaming service recently announced that there will be a third season of their highly talked about docuseries America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. We have everything you need to know about the show, including which cheerleaders you can expect to see put on the iconic blue and white uniform below.
What to expect in Season 3 of the ‘Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders’ docuseries
Season 3 America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders was announced exclusively by Variety on Monday, August 18. This news comes after the show’s second season became one of Netflix’s top ten shows after its release back in June.
“The world of DCC is an embarrassment of riches when it comes to stories to be told,” director Grey Whiteley told the new outlet. “I’m grateful our crew has another season to keep telling them.”
Chief Brand Officer and co-owner of the Dallas Cowboy Charlotte Jones—daughter of owner and General Manager Jerry Jones—echoed similar thoughts, telling Variety “I am so proud of that show, because forever, I have wanted everybody to see how hard it is to be a cheerleader and what their journey is.”
“We always see the players’ journeys—and we cheer for that and commiserate with the commitment to get there—but we’ve never shone a light on those women. Every one of them has a story of why they’re there and how they got there.”
Similar to the show’s first two seasons, the third is expected to follow the cheerleaders through the audition process, training camp, the football season and beyond.
Returning cheerleaders and new faces
Based on the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Instagram, team members Megan McElaney, Charly Barby, Reece Weaver, Kelly Villares, Kleine Powell and Kayla Hayes are currently still part of the organization, meaning that they could potentially be a part of the show’s third season. They will be joined by their other teammates, Senior Director Kelli Finglass, Head Choreographer Judy Trammell and the 2025 Training Camp Canidates—which includes Faith Ward, who recently went viral for dancing in her high ponytail.
“This journey has been incredibly challenging, both physically and mentally, but I wouldn’t change a thing! I’ve been pushed in ways I never imagined. I’ve learned and grown so much already. I’m excited to see where this wild ride takes me! I feel so privileged to stand alongside not only the most talented dancers but also some of the most amazing women I’ve ever met,” Ward wrote on Instagram after making the team in July of this year.
“I want to thank, from the bottom of my heart, the Cowboys Organization for believing in me and giving me this life-changing opportunity. It is truly an honor. To my family, friends, coaches, and mentors who have been by my side throughout this entire journey, thank you will never be enough. I wouldn’t be where I am today without you,” she continued. “This year is going to be the best yet, and I can’t wait to share it with my new family of sisters!”
Not expected to appear are the cheerleaders who retired at the end of Season 2. This includes Chandi Dayle, Jada Mclean, Armani Latimer and Amanda Howard.
When will Season 3 of ‘America’s Sweethearts’ premiere?
Season 3 of America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders is expected to air sometime in 2026. If you cannot wait that long though you can always stream the first two seasons on Netflix or you can watch the newly released documentary America’s Team: The Gambler, which centers around Jerry and his takeover of the team.
