Aston Villa now pushing hard to sign Chelsea player

It looks like the remainder of Chelsea's summer transfer window is going to be like a game of dominoes. If some exits take place, then it will lead to fresh arrivals. They are believed to be close to signing both Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho, from RB Leipzig and Manchester United, respectively. But unless some departures are sanctioned first, additions cannot be made.

Of course, that does not mean that [Chelsea](https://theprideoflondon.com/chelsea-handed-boost-christopher-nkunku-transfer-twist) will accept any offers just to push things through. The right conditions need to be met, and with time running out in the summer transfer window, one has to wonder if they have things too late.

One of the players who is likeliest to leave this summer is Nicolas Jackson. The first-choice number 9 for the previous two seasons, the Senegalese international was never able to convince that he was the long-term answer for the Blues.

Do not get us wrong, Jackson is brilliant in a lot of aspects. That being said, one cannot overlook his struggles with finishing off chances and his inability to stay out of the referee's book. If he wants to succeed at the highest level, he needs to improve in both aspects, which he did not do over his two years at Chelsea.

Chelsea signed Liam Delap and Joao Pedro this summer. And now, it looks like Jackson is keen to leave the club rather than stay on and compete for his place in the team.

As reported by [Eduardo Burgos](https://x.com/edu17burgos/status/1957914613590245539), Jackson's future will be decided this week. The player is clear that he will leave, and Aston Villa is pushing hard. They want a loan with an obligation. The striker likes the idea. Other teams such as Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest, AC Milan, Inter and Juventus have also approached his agency.

In many ways, Aston Villa could be the perfect club for Jackson. It is a good team for sure but not one that has the pressure of Chelsea. That might help him flourish. Also, he knows Unai Emery from their time together at Villarreal, which could surely help him settle in.
