Liverpool hopeful of sealing Marc Guehi deal this week

Liverpool are looking to add the final touches to their squad, with hopes of bringing Marc Guehi to the backline this week.

Earlier, DaveOCKOP reported that the defender had already agreed personal terms with Liverpool. However, earlier this month, Crystal Palace made it clear they want at least €55 million for Guehi after rejecting two bids from the Merseyside club.

The Reds are expected to hold talks this week regarding Marc Guehi. He is a key defensive target for Liverpool, with much of the groundwork for a potential transfer already in place. Guehi is determined to join Liverpool should he leave Crystal Palace.

Liverpool hoping for a discounted deal

As DaveOCKOP revealed, Liverpool are hopeful of closing the signing of the Palace captain this week. The club is now in the final stages, with a medical reportedly being organised by the Merseyside giants.

Initially, Crystal Palace tried to hold out for £45 million, but the final price is likely to be closer to a £40 million package. Assuming everything goes smoothly, Guehi could complete his switch to Anfield by the end of the week.

The English defender could fill the small gap in Liverpool’s backline that was noticeable during pre-season and the opening game of the season. With Giovanni Leoni’s arrival already officially unveiled, Arne Slot may finally get the defensive options he wanted.

Meanwhile, Ibrahima Konate’s future at Anfield remains uncertain. Reports suggest that if he does not accept Liverpool’s new contract proposal, the club could decide to sell him before the transfer window closes.
