NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Tennessee Titans will wrap up their preseason with one final game, Friday night at Nissan Stadium against the Minnesota Vikings.
It’ll be the final chance for anyone who may be on the fringe of making the team to reiterate how they can help the organization.
Roster cuts will be on August 26. And that’s when all 32 teams will trim 37 players from their depth charts. That, of course, means that teams can add players who were cut from other rosters.
It’s a unique part of life in the NFL that never gets easier, no matter how long you’ve been a part of it.
“It’s always that thought in the back of your head of what’s gonna happen next?” said Titans running back Julius Chestnut.
“Still the same, going on year four.”
“Just being able to get under the lights one more time. Like I said, just put my resume on tape,” said Titans receiver Bryce Oliver.
“At the end of the day, I’m auditioning for all other teams in the NFL so that’s it.”

Oliver’s increased his chances of making the Titans’ squad. Not only has he shown he can be a reliable receiver, but he’s a proven commodity on special teams, which makes him a versatile player.
“That’s part of what my message is to them, too, you’re trying to put your resume on tape,” said Titans head coach Brian Callahan.
“Because we can only keep 53 guys and 16 on the practice squad. So it is a big final push for some guys trying to make a name for themselves, whether it’s here or somewhere else.”
Callahan said many Titans starters will play some snaps in the preseason finale. Even defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons said he’s jockeying to get into the game just to get some reps.
