Liverpool are still unlikely to reach Newcastle United’s valuation of Alexander Isak despite his clear desire to leave Newcastle United.
Isak made a statement about his Newcastle United future on Tuesday night, suggesting that promises have been broken and trust has been lost at the club.
Liverpool are expected to make a second bid for Isak after having their opening offer rejected by Newcastle.
Still, Newcastle value Isak at around £150million and reportedly need to sign two strikers before they consider selling him.
Liverpool are waiting in the wings but it seems they are simply not prepared to pay what Newcastle reportedly want.

Liverpool value Alexander Isak at £120m
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Liverpool are unlikely to bid £150million for Isak.
They will make a second offer if they are given encouragement, but Jacobs suggests they have never been directly quoted such a price.
Indeed, the Reds value the 25-year-old at around £120million. That would break the British transfer record but still looks some way off what those at St James’ Park actually want.

Newcastle United respond to Alexander Isak’s bombshell statement
Isak talked of how the “change” is best for all parties now, such is his desire to leave.
However, it seems the club are unbroken. While Newcastle have been bruised over the Isak saga, they are seemingly holding firm.
According to talkSPORT’s Alex Crook – who has now echoed what Luke Edwards of The Daily Telegraph has been saying all summer – Newcastle continue to insist that Isak simply isn’t for sale.
They do not have to cash in from a financial perspective and Newcastle do not expect Isak to play for them again while the transfer window is open anyway.
This really felt like his last roll of the dice. If Newcastle really do stand firm here, it’s difficult to see where Isak goes next.
