José Mourinho’s Fenerbahçe have agreed a deal to sign Oleksandr Zinchenko from Arsenal.
The two clubs have reached broad agreement over the transfer, although there are still some finer details to be resolved, most notably the fee.
The Turkish Super Lig side’s initial offer for the Ukrainian international of ₤9m was met with Arsenal valuing him at more than double that, although given he has just one year left on his contract at the Emirates, that may be optimistic.
However, they might be able to drive the price further, with Porto also showing signs of interest in the left-back. Fenerbahçe, though, remain confident that they will ultimately win the race for a player who will welcome the chance to play under Mourinho.
Zinchenko recently opened up about what he described as the most difficult season of his career last campaign, as he lost his first-team place with competition from Riccardo Calafiori and the emergence of Myles Lewis-Skelly.
