Douglas Luiz “only wants” Nottingham Forest and the Brazilian is said to be awaiting the green light from Juventus to complete a medical at the club and seal a transfer to the City Ground.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano issued the latest update on the situation, saying: “Nottingham Forest and Douglas Luiz, deal almost done! Final details being sorted and then… here we go.
“Douglas only wants (Forest) and the two clubs are finalising small details ahead of green light to travel for medical.”
If he does complete a switch to the City Ground, it would make him Forest’s eighth signing of the transfer window.
Igor Jesus, Jair Cunha, Dan Ndoye, Angus Gunn, Omari Hutchinson, James McAtee and Arnaud Kalimuendo have already put pen to paper for the Reds this summer.
Luiz only penned a five-year deal when he made his €50m (£43m) move to Juventus from Aston Villa last summer. However, it proved to be a tough season in Serie A for the midfielder, with just three league starts to his name.
