Manchester City player pictured arriving at airport ahead of transfer – Medical scheduled on Wednesday

Manchester City’s Claudio Echeverri is edging closer to completing a loan move to Bayer Leverkusen this summer.

On Tuesday, both Sky Deutschland and Kicker reported Erik ten Hag’s side have reached a full agreement with Manchester City, who haven’t included a purchase option as part of the loan deal.

It was also said the 19-year-old is expected to travel to Germany soon to undergo tests and sign the contract with Bayer Leverkusen.

Sky Deutschland journalist Patrick Berger took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to post a video of Echeverri arriving outside Düsseldorf Airport late on Tuesday.

Berger says the attacking midfielder landed in Germany with his agent, Enzo Montepaone, to join the Bundesliga club.

The Argentina international has to carry out formalities before completing the loan move. This should happen soon as the journalist reports Echeverri’s Bayer Leverkusen medical is scheduled on Wednesday morning.

Manchester City signed the South American from River Plate in January 2024 and send him back on loan until the end of last year.

Echeverri arrived at the Etihad in January and played 64 minutes under Pep Guardiola’s orders. The loan move to Bayer Leverkusen provides him an opportunity to enjoy regular minutes and also adjust to the European football.
