Everton may look to recruit another striker before the transfer window closes after their 1-0 defeat against Leeds United on Monday night.
David Moyes’ side were toothless for the bulk of their visit to Elland Road, with Beto struggling to make an impact on the game.
Whilst some Evertonians, like Tony Bellew, felt the decision to award Leeds a penalty late on was incredibly harsh, the Blues’ performance was concerning either way.
With Alan Stubbs suggesting Everton should sign Jamie Vardy, previous comments from Moyes on the former England international suggest he could be keen to bring the striker to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Beto did not register a single shot on target during the game against the Premier League newcomers, highlighting the need for another striker in Merseyside.

Thierno Barry also struggled to influence proceedings, but the youngster was limited to a brief cameo off the bench for his debut.
With Vardy currently being a free agent, with Everton previously linked to him earlier in the summer, Moyes’ previous comments about the Leicester City legend appear to have opened the door for a potential move.
Whilst Moyes was in charge of West Ham, he had this to say about Vardy: “You have to be collectively trying to look after Jamie Vardy. He is a terrific player and looks as if he is getting better.”
With Vardy being 38, his age would seemingly not be a factor in whether Moyes would sign the forward, considering he has extended Seamus Coleman’s contract under his tenure as manager.
“I don’t think age in football is quite as important as it was years ago… if we had our way, we would try and keep Seamus around, definitely”, Moyes said, potentially adding more fuel to the fire regarding Vardy’s move to Everton.

Vardy has an outstanding record against Everton
Some of the Everton faithful may want TFG to secure Vardy’s services to avoid seeing the striker score against the Toffees.
According to Statmuse, Vardy has faced Everton on 16 occasions in the Premier League, with the forward having nine goal contributions in that time.

Vardy, who has made 342 Premier League appearances, would be a different profile of striker to Beto and Barry, but there are naturally risks that come with signing a player who turns 39 in January.
If possible, Everton should look to invest in a more long-term solution to help lead the line for them, but if they cannot afford to, signing Vardy on a free may be a risk they need to take.
