Leeds United have been in the hunt for another new striker, but they can tick Lecce star Nikola Krstovic off the list at Elland Road.

Krstovic has been regularly linked with Leeds over the summer as they look to put together an attack worthy of the Premier League.

In their top-flight opener against Everton, the Peacocks’ attack showed, for the most part, that they are capable of competing against top sides in the league, sealing a 1-0 win.

However, Joel Piroe was one of those who struggled, with a clear sign that Daniel Farke still wants reinforcements up front.

Leeds miss out on another forward in Krstovic

Leeds have managed to secure the signings of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha up front so far this summer.

Noah Okafor’s potential move to join them at Leeds seems to be the perfect play by Farke, with the attacking duo likely to profit from the Switzerland international.

However, the Peacocks still face issues with Piroe, and signing another forward would enable them to get the best out of the Dutchman.

That striker, however, won’t be Krstovic.

According to Fabrizio Romano on X, the Montenegrin forward is set to join Atalanta for £21.5million in another blow to Farke’s attack, with a long-term deal signed.

Strikers the Whites have missed out on so far:

Fotis Ioannidis – Panathinaikos

Andrea Pinamont – Sassuolo

Rodrigo Muniz – Fulham

Nikola Krstovic – Lecce

So far, Leeds haven’t been able to make any big money signings in attack.

Both Calvert-Lewin and Nmecha were signed as free agents, and it feels like, to stay up this season, they will have to spend on another striker.

Leeds can’t let Christantus Uche slip away

It has emerged that Leeds are interested in versatile forward Christantus Uche.

With a deal for Okafor almost wrapped up, the Peacocks must focus on not missing out on another attacker.

Both Farke’s side and Sunderland have been linked with Uche, and the Whites can’t afford for another of their targets to join their rivals.

Leeds have already missed out on Noah Sadiki and Habib Diarra to the Mackems this summer, and if Uche elects to join the Wearside club, frustrations will grow in West Yorkshire.
