Nottingham Forest have gone from relegation candidates to European challengers in the space of one year.
When Nuno Espirito Santo took over in December 2023, Nottingham Forest were scrapping at the bottom of the league.
Steve Cooper had been sacked after a run of one win in 13 games, so there was a pressing need to get points on the board.
Espirito Santo managed to steer them to safety despite a points deduction, and since then, the club has gone from strength to strength.
With that said, there was a prediction made about the Tricky Trees by Jamie Carragher last season, which Gary Neville hammered him for this week.

Gary Neville hammers Jamie Carragher for Nottingham Forest prediction
Neville and Carragher reacted to their predictions from last season, and Neville took his opportunity to rip into his colleague for predicting Forest to get relegated.
“Nottingham Forest going down is the worst prediction in punditry history,” Neville said.
“It’s the worst prediction in punditry history.”
MORE FOREST STORIES
Forest ended up finishing in seventh place, 40 points clear of the relegation zone, and they will compete in the Europa League this season.
Many didn’t anticipate Forest to have the season they did, but to go down with the likes of Morgan Gibbs-White, Anthony Elanga, and Murillo at the back would’ve been a shock.
Nottingham Forest tipped for Europe this season
There is a totally different feel about Nottingham Forest this season, and that’s been reflected in Neville’s prediction this season.
Neville expects Forest to challenge for Europe again, noting that Nuno’s system will win them a lot of football games.
They’ve made a number of statement additions, too, and the signing of Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz is now close to being finalised.

Forest blew Brentford away at the weekend, and that was mainly without their new signings, so exciting times are on the horizon at the City Ground.
