Nottingham Forest look into deal for 21-year-old Norwich City ace

Norwich City defender Kellen Fisher has been the subject of an enquiry from Nottingham Forest, according to reporter Pete O’Rourke.

Norwich City have set about rebuilding their ranks for new boss Liam Manning this summer transfer window. Incomings were the first focus for NCFC, but with much of their business done, eyes are now on who could leave.

Star man Borja Sainz left earlier in the window, but Josh Sargent and Marcelino Nunez are among those who have had admirers too.

Another to emerge on radars is Kellen Fisher, with Premier League side Everton recently linked. Now though, it is said that the Canaries talent has another top-flight club on his trail.

Writing on X, reporter Pete O’Rourke has said that Nottingham Forest have joined the Toffees in eyeing Norwich City ace Fisher. An enquiry has been lodged, and it remains to be seen whether their interest is firmed up from here.

It also remains unknown if NCFC will be receptive to a sale. Fisher is regarded as a fine prospect at Carrow Road and having signed a new deal in September 2024, he is under contract until 2028 with an option to extend.

As such, it might not be a cheap deal to prise him away from the Norfolk outfit.

Intrigue over Kellen Fisher’s role at Norwich City

Fisher is viewed as a good prospect at Norwich City. He signed from Bromley in 2023 and has acquitted himself well at Championship level as a developing 21-year-old.

However, Liam Manning has come in and his system is clear: three centre-backs, with wing-backs on either flank. Unfortunately for Fisher, this setup is one that favours Jack Stacey over himself, as has been shown by the starting XI selection in the opening games of the campaign.

If Fisher is to remain behind Stacey in the pecking order, it could make both the player and NCFC somewhat receptive to bids from elsewhere. If the money is right, it does not feel out of the question that the youngster moves on, despite the time remaining on his contract.

What will the final weeks of the summer transfer window bring Norwich City?

Amid a significant summer recruitment drive, there is room for Norwich City to let a number of players go before the end of the transfer window.

Goalkeeper exits could await for George Long and Daniel Barden but otherwise, the defence is well set up with solid depth and balance in all roles. Of course, if Fisher was to leave, new cover and competition for Stacey would be required.

There could be room for manoeuvre in midfield and attack with the likes of Gabe Forsyth, Liam Gibbs and Tony Springett potentially benefitting from opportunities elsewhere.
