Mohamed Salah believes that Arsenal may be in the best position to win the Premier League this season after three years of coming up just short in the title race against Liverpool and Manchester City.
Salah and the Reds lifted the title last season with Arsenal finishing as runners-up for a third consecutive season. The north Londoners last won the league more than 20 years ago back in the 2003-04 campaign and are desperate to end their long wait for another domestic crown.
Liverpool were the favourites to retain their title ahead of the start of the new season after significantly bolstering Arne Slot's squad this season. And while Salah and Co made a fine start to their defence of said title by beating Bournemouth 4-2 on Friday night, the Egyptian forward admits Arsenal's squad, the majority of whom have been together for a number of years now, makes them favourites to win the league in his eyes.
When he was asked about Arsenal's title chances at the PFA Awards on Tuesday night, Salah said: "I think you have a great team this season as you did last season. So, you have really good chance.
"I think you are the favourite now because you players who have been together for five years. I can’t say I’ll wish you luck – hopefully we do it again."
Salah's view on the Arsenal team is similar to that of Gary Neville; the Sky Sports pundit said earlier this week that it's too close to call who will win the title out of the Gunners, Liverpool and Manchester City, though the fact Arsenal have a good squad and have been "consistent" for three years could give them an edge.

Speaking on Monday Night Football, Neville said: "I couldn’t separate Arsenal, Liverpool and City and I think they are all in with an equal chance so I’ve got no certainty that Arsenal are going to win it.
"But they’ve been consistent over the last three years and I do feel they will get there at some point. They are reliable and solid and they’re consistent, which I think is important. I think they’ve got the right materials, they are just going to have to sort that forward bit of the pitch out and I think Gyokeres will."
