Nottingham Forest and Everton set to battle it out for 'highly rated' Norwich City star

Everton and Nottingham Forest are set to battle it out to sign a Norwich City star this summer as they look to strengthen after their contrasting starts to the Premier League season.

Everton have been involved in a transfer saga this summer in their attempts to bring Tyler Dibling to the club; however, it appears they will no longer be going after the winger after Will Still reintegrated the player back into his Southampton squad.

This has seen David Moyes look at alternative options, and in doing so, Everton have identified Tom Fellows as a potential signing to strengthen their right wing.

Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest are looking to build a squad for the upcoming Europa League campaign they are set to embark on, and so they have identified a Norwich City star as a player who can help them compete on all fronts this season.

Liam Manning will be hopeful Norwich can hold onto the player, but when Premier League sides set their sights on a Championship player, it can be incredibly difficult to hold onto a star.

Everton and Nottingham Forest to battle over Kellen Fisher

It has been reported by Pete O’Rourke on social media that both Nottingham Forest and Everton are in the hunt to sign the ‘highly-rated’ Norwich City defender Kellen Fisher.

For Nottingham Forest he may be seen as more of a long-term option, while Everton may view him as having a role more immediately due to the need to inject energy and pace into their squad, as seen in their opening performance against Leeds United, and following the loss of Ashley Young to Ipswich Town.

Fisher was ever-present in the Norwich side last season and has already featured in the club’s two opening Championship fixtures this campaign, highlighting his importance to the team.

At 21 years old, Fisher may believe this is the right time to take the next step in his career and to build on his experiences so far in his career, having impressed in the Championship and for England at the underage level.

Liam Manning is a huge fan of Kellen Fisher

As interest continues to grow around the future of Kellen Fisher making a move to the Premier League, Liam Manning has spoken to Pink Un about the right-back position at the club.

Norwich have two fantastic options in the position in Fisher and Jack Stacey, who has played for Bournemouth in the Premier League.

Manning said: “Kellen’s all-round basics are really good.

“He gets forward and supports attacks quite well at times as well, and he’s shown a bit of bite, which I like. I think that’s important against an extremely physical side in Watford as well.

“It’s one of those. He’s had a really good breakout season last year, and it’s now about building on that. I think it’s doing what the team needs, and he did that the other night (against Watford).

“That’s the competition. The age and the experience aren’t massively important when you look at it in isolation. Across the team that you pick when you look at the whole starting line-up, I think it is important.”
