All the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Arsenal as they turn their attention to Leeds United.

Arsenal are back in action on Saturday when they take on Leeds United on the back of a win over Manchester United in their season-opener. The Gunners did not look anywhere near their best at Old Trafford, but they will be delighted to find themselves in a position where they have a lot to improve but with a ‘1’ in the win column.

It has been a busy summer for the Gunners, and it will be interesting to see whether they will add another player, and it’s likely there will be exits along the way. Here we round up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding the Emirates Stadium.

Rodrygo hope

Arsenal still have hope of landing Real Madrid winger Rodrygo this summer, according to a fresh report. The Gunners are still said to want to add more competition out wide, but Real Madrid’s asking price of £86million is said to have prevented all offers up to this point.

But according to Spanish football expert Guillem Balague, Los Blancos could reduce their asking price massively in the final week of the summer, and to as low as £51-£60million. That could see the Gunners spring into action.

Lookman still an option

Fabrizio Romano believes there is a chance Arsenal could turn to Atalanta star Ademola Lookman after missing out on Eberechi Eze, with Lookman looking as though his time at Atalanta is over.

“Let’s see what’s going to happen, guys, because Lookman could be an option for English clubs," Romano said on YouTube. "At the moment, still nothing advanced, but for example, the agents of Lookman always gave priority to Inter, but now with Inter no longer being in the race, Premier League clubs could be attentive.

“So, for example, let’s see what happens at Arsenal. Arsenal are very happy with the squad they have right now up front. In terms of age, probably Lookman is not exactly the profile of player that Arsenal usually sign. But maybe if Trossard decides to leave in the final weeks, that could be an opportunity. So, let’s see what’s going to happen. But Lookman could be an interesting name for these final weeks for Premier League clubs.”

Merson on Arsenal win

Paul Merson believes it is ‘advantage’ Arsenal in this still very premature stage of the title race. He wrote on Sky Sports: “They will need to improve because it wasn't the greatest of displays. They had to rely on a set piece again, but they got their goal, and the defence was rock solid. They got themselves over the line for a vital three points, especially with the game against Liverpool coming up soon.

“It was a must-win game with Liverpool away, Man City at home and Newcastle away coming up, but they will have to play better to get results in those games. But advantage Arsenal. The way I see it now is Liverpool and Man City have to go to Old Trafford to win to match Arsenal, and that's a huge positive at such an early stage of the season.”
