WREXHAM continue to be linked with Manchester City defender Callum Doyle.
It is reported that the Reds have agreed a fee which could rise to £8m for the 21-year-old, a product of the City academy who has never played for the first team having spent the last four seasons out on loan.
Centre-back Doyle, an England Under-21 international, had his first taste of senior football with a year-long loan spell at Sunderland, who were then in League One, in 2021-22.
He spent the next three campaigns in the Championship with temporary spells at Coventry City, Leicester City and Norwich, getting more than 100 second tier appearances under his belt.
So far in his career, Doyle, who would give Wrexham a left-sided option in central defence, has made 158 club appearances in all competitions and scored two goals.
Wrexham, back in the second tier for the first time in 43 years after clinching a record-breaking three successive promotions, have made nine new signings so far this summer.
The Reds shattered their transfer record last week to sign Wales forward Nathan Broadhead for a fee which could rise to £10m.
