Just in: Sky Sports say Crystal Palace have ‘broad agreement’ to sign 'phenomenal' star in £32m …

Crystal Palace are closing in on a deal to sign Leicester City star Bilal El Khannouss for £32m, according to Sky Sports News.

The Eagles have had a relatively quiet transfer window so far with Walter Benitez and Borna Sosa their only arrivals so far, but Oliver Glasner is keen to add to his squad.

With star forward Eberechi Eze expected to leave to join Tottenham before the deadline, Morocco international El Khannouss has emerged as the top target to replace him and a deal is now on the verge of being done.

Crystal Palace 'Close' to £32m Agreement for El Khannouss

Bilal El Khannouss in action for Leicester City

El Khannouss, who has been described as 'phenomenal', was one of the standout performers for Leicester City in 2024/25 despite their relegation, and has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs as a result.

But after agreeing personal terms with Crystal Palace, the two clubs are now on the verge of a total agreement that would see the 21-year-old make the move to Selhurst Park.

According to Sky Sports News, there is a 'broad agreement' in place between the two clubs on a deal worth £32m, with payment terms largely in place. However, progress on the deal has been temporarily halted as Palace consider all their options for the position.

A deal has not been totally committed too, but El Khannouss wants Palace and with an agreement in place, it wouldn't be difficult for a deal to now be completed.

With Eze expected to move on, Glasner is desperate to add to his forward options after winning the FA Cup for the first time in the club's history last season, which saw them qualify for European competition for the first time, although UEFA have since demoted them to the Europa Conference League for what was essentially an administrative error.

There is also an expectation that Marc Guehi could leave the club amid strong interest from Liverpool, with the club captain in the final year of his contract and owner Steve Parish not keen on losing him for free next summer.
