On Monday, Calciomercato’s Daniele Longo reported on AC Milan’s interest in Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson.
The journalist claimed that a deal would be difficult for the Rossoneri and that Newcastle United were leading the race for the Senegalese. More has now emerged about the Chelsea player and today’s La Repubblica adds interest from Napoli.
The newspaper report, relayed by CalcioNapoli1926, that the striker has previously been looked at by Antonio Conte’s side and they are back in the fray again.
This is because Romelu Lukaku is out for three months due to an injury and Napoli are trying to speak to Chelsea about the margins of negotiations for the 24-year-old.
So far, the Blues have not opened up to a loan deal which can favour Napoli. La Repubblica claim that the London giants want a permanent sale of €40m.
Conte’s side haven’t lost hope in their move and are likely to push further. But the newspaper’s asking price feels too optimistic and is lower than what the English press have said.
Napoli have a host of other options on their shortlist and that is why Jackson can still prove too expensive.
