Florian Plettenberg has announced that Amine Adli is a "done deal" to sign for Bournemouth.
The Cherries are set to stump up a fee of €30 million for the attacker: an initial fee of €21 million and €9 million more in add-ons, and he should be putting pen to paper for the club until at least 2029.
Adli has enjoyed significant success in his career to date. A rising star with Toulouse, he helped his boyhood club reach the promotion playoffs of **Ligue 2**in his first full season as a professional. With eight goals and seven assists, the attacker received the award of the Player of the Year in the division.
In 2021, he agreed on a five-year deal with Bayer Leverkusen and was a useful asset to the team. He played 42 times during a historic campaign when Die Werkself went undefeated on the way to lifting the **DFB Pokal**and a first **Bundesliga**title, while also reaching the final of the Europa League.
By June, Xabi Alonso had already agreed to take charge of Real Madrid. Leverkusen has since seen their spine shatter: Lukas Hradecky, Jonathan Tah, Odilon Kossounou, and Jeremie Frimpong have all left the defensive unit, while Granit Xhaka and Florian Wirtz have moved to England.
Adli will add to the exodus and aspires to make his mark with his peers in the Premier League.
What will Adli add to the attack?
**Bournemouth**suffered their own exodus at the back, parting ways with Dean Huijsen, Illia Zabarnyi, and Milos Kerkez, as well as loanee shot stopper Kepa Arrizabalaga. But a 4-2 defeat away at league champions **Liverpool**proved that the offensive impulse of the group is still alive.
The Cherries continue to rebuild at both ends of the pitch. Dango Ouattara became a record signing for **Brentford**for a fee of £42.5 million, but Adli adds to their offensive roster along with Ben Doak.
While Doak has mostly played as a right winger in his career, Adli has ventured across several roles. He broke through in French football with Toulouse, where he was a support striker in a front two. Goals have followed him through his career: 11 goals and nine assists in his last three years of **Bundesliga**football look much better when one considers that output came in 3000 minutes.
The Morocco international is a skilled, agile ball carrier who can sharply shift his direction and body weight with the ball at his feet. He receives well and can link with teammates in more central areas, and these traits have made him a neat tool for Leverkusen behind Victor Boniface or Patrik Schick.
He is not afraid of putting in the work without the ball, a requisite to be a part of the plans for Andoni Iraola, and he has shown himself, both in times of style and squad role, to be a great support attacker for the stars of the show. At the age of 25, it might be the perfect time for his brilliance to shine.
