Bournemouth set to make double swoop to strengthen attack

Following on from the departure of Dango Ouattara to Premier League rivals Brentford, AFC Bournemouth have made an immediate move in the transfer market to find a replacement – Ben Gannon Doak from Liverpool.

The transfer is reportedly for an initial fee of £20million, with £5 million in add-ons. The Daily Echo have also reported that “Liverpool will have a buy-back option as a part of the deal”.

The 19-year-old winger has signed a five-year contract at Dean Court.

Gannon Doak told afcb.co.uk upon his arrival…

“I’m buzzing to be here. I feel like it’s the right time for me and it’s a great opportunity to play regular football at the highest level. It feels like the perfect fit.

“The team play very nice football. It’s fast and it really suits my game, so I felt like I couldn’t say no to the chance to play here.”

Ben Gannon Doak, formally known as just Ben Doak, came through the youth system at Celtic and made just two appearances before he was snapped up by Liverpool in 2022, with the Merseyside club paying a “training compensation” fee of around £600,000.

He made 8 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions before a loan move to Middlesbrough last season.

Gannon Doak has also represented his country. Playing for Scotland at Under 16’s, 17’s and Under 21’s before making his senior debut in September 2024 against Poland.

Meanwhile, Luis Sinisterra could be heading to Brazil on loan to join Cruzeiro. Discussions on a move are ongoing.

This would put AFC Bournemouth back in the market for another attacking wide player and that appears to be Amine Adli from German Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen.

A deal has reportedly been agreed between the two sides with €21 million up front, plus another €9 million in add-ons.

It is believed he is in the country today (20th August 2025) to complete a medical.

Doak and Adli for Dango and Sini feels like a free upgrade to me. Two players who are likely to be available when needed and at least one covering multiple positions. Doak also has far more potential to develop and bring a decent profit than the two we’ve just lost and on paper, maybe AI can even bring Adli on to a level where he too becomes a very valuable asset.

To replace those two with these two without spending much money seems like a sensible move to me. Arguably, both have the potential to help us in the meantime and bring another tidy profit in a year or two. – To join the conversation, please click here.
