Simon Jordan shares what he hopes will happen with Alexander Isak amid Liverpool interest

Alexander Isak’s potential transfer to Liverpool has been held up for the last few weeks.

Many still expect the Sweden international to become a Liverpool player by the end of the summer transfer window, but since the Reds haven’t made another bid just yet, it’s unclear whether that will happen.

On Tuesday evening, Isak shared a statement which outlined that promises had been broken by Newcastle, which has resulted in him not seeing a future for himself at St James’ Park.

And, although he still has three years left on his deal, he likely believes that since the trust between the two is now broken, there’s no possible way that he would be able to reintegrate with the team.

Simon Jordan hopes that Newcastle manage to keep Alexander Isak this summer

If Liverpool did end up acquiring Isak’s services this summer, they’d be impossible to stop.

And, even though Arne Slot and Richard Hughes know this, they likely don’t want to fork out the £150million that the Magpies are demanding to prise him away.

Because, while he may be one of the best strikers in the world, now that they have players such as Hugo Ekitike among their ranks, they aren’t as desperate to bring anyone in.

And, while speaking about Isak’s situation live on talkSPORT, Simon Jordan gave his thoughts on what he hopes will happen to the attacker.

“I hope Newcastle do manage to achieve that [reintegrating Isak], I hope they have the strength and character to achieve it, and I hope that the player gets precisely what his behaviour deserves,” he said.

What Liverpool could do if they don’t end up signing Alexander Isak

Even if Isak doesn’t end up becoming a Liverpool player this summer, they still need to bring in at least one attacker.

Now that Ben Doak, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez have all exited Anfield, the Reds are a tad light up front, which, with how long and gruelling the season is, is far from ideal.

Indeed, Federico Chiesa now looks likely to stay at Anfield, which is good news, but it still means that there are only three natural wingers among their ranks.

Of course, the likes of Ekitike, Florian Wirtz and Harvey Elliott can all be used on the flanks if needed, but each of them are much more effective in their natural positions.

With this in mind, if Liverpool don’t want to fork out the £150million needed for Isak, they need to turn their attention elsewhere as soon as possible; otherwise, they’re just one or two injuries away from a major crisis.
