Defender champions Liverpool will travel to the North East to face Newcastle United in their second game of the Premier League season on Monday night.
The Reds cruised to a 4-2 victory against Bournemouth on the opening night of the new campaign, with Mohamed Salah picking up where he left off last season by adding the fourth for Arne Slot’s side.
Having cruised to the top flight title last season, the Reds have since spent big in the transfer market with Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike and Jeremie Frimpong all arriving at Anfield.
Now, it appears that the Merseyside giants are facing competition in the race to sign a Premier League defender.
As per CaughtOffside, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are all monitoring Brentford defender Nathan Collins.

It is claimed that all three sides are interested in the centre-back, although the Lilywhites are set to step up their pursuit of the player.
Collins, 24, joined the Bees from Wolves in 2023, and has since played 78 times for the West London club across all competitions.
The Irishman has impressed for Brentford, but it appears his performances haven’t gone unnoticed with United, Tottenham and Liverpool all showing interest in the player.
Spurs are now managed by former Brentford boss Thomas Frank, and the report claims that the Dane is keen for a reunion with Republic or Ireland international Collins this summer.
The defender is contracted to Brentford until the end of the 2028/29 season, but it remains to be seen whether or not he will still be part of Keith Andrews’ squad beyond the end of the current transfer window.
While Liverpool are in a position to be able to move for Collins, it is claimed that Man United’s financial woes mean they are likely to be priced out of a deal.
