Arsenal have reportedly been hit with the news that Kai Havertz is facing a spell on the sidelines with a knee injury.
The Germany international was a second-half substitute in his side's opening match of the 2025-26 Premier League on Sunday afternoon, being introduced in the 60th minute of the clash with Manchester United.
However, he was a notable absentee from the open training session that Arsenal held at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday.
According to The Athletic journalist David Ornstein, Havertz is facing a spell on the sidelines with a knee injury, but the extent of the damage is unclear at this stage of proceedings.
The 26-year-old will be assessed once the initial swelling has subsided, but the club are thought to be fearful that he could be ruled out for a significant period of time.

Havertz 'set for spell out' with knee injury
Havertz was out for between February and May with a hamstring issue, missing a host of key games for Arsenal, and he is now set to miss a number of important matches at the start of the new campaign.
The attacker has scored 29 goals and registered 13 assists in 88 matches for Arsenal, following on from the 32 goals and 16 assists that he managed in 139 games for Chelsea.
Havertz' injury is expected to lead to Arsenal bringing in a new forward before the end of the summer transfer window, as a long-term absence would leave the Gunners short in the final third of the field.
The North London club have spent big on a new forward this summer, bringing in Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon, and the Sweden international made his competitive debut against Man United.

How long will Havertz be unavailable?
There has been speculation surrounding the extent of the issue, but no firm reports have arrived thus far, so it is impossible to determine how long the German could be out.
If it is a minor knee issue, then he may be available in a month or so, but any serious issue in that area of the body would mean a long time on the sidelines, potentially up to a year.
Arsenal do have plenty of time to add to their squad before the end of the transfer window, and the club are still thought to be keen on Real Madrid's Rodrygo, who is widely expected to leave Bernabeu before the market closes.
