In a bid to add star quality to this Wolves side, manager Vitor Pereira has set his sights on an exciting young midfielder from La Liga.
The transfer window is approaching its end and Wolves are starting to get busy, at least that’s what it looks like.
The prevailing thought is that Wolves haven’t done enough this summer to plug the gaps left by the many departing players, but the hope is that we’re in for a busy final two weeks.
That started yesterday, with the announcement of right-back Jackson Tchatchoua, and the next name to be linked with a move to Molineux comes from Spain.
Wolves have sent a £26m proposal to Barcelona for Marc Casado
A report from Cadena Ser’s Santi Ovella reveals that Wolves are one of a number of teams to send a proposal to the Blaugrana for Marc Casado.
He writes: “Casadó’s good season last year has caused him to have important offers worth 30 million euros. Fàbregas’s Como, Pellegrini’s Betis and Premier League teams have made offers to the player, who will follow Barça. One of the offers comes from Jorge Mendes’s team: the English Wolverhampton.”
21-year-old defensive midfielder Casado burst onto the scene last term to cover for the many injuries plaguing Barcelona’s midfield.

He showed his quality from early on and started more than half of Barca’s La Liga games as they won the title.
Ovella notes that Barca are not under pressure to sell him, but that they also can’t promise him consistent minutes as it stands.
Marc Casado could do what Gerard Martin has done to Wolves
It emerged on Tuesday night that Gerard Martin had turned down a move to Wolves, despite Barcelona accepting a bid.
The same fate could await Wolves with Casado. A La Masia graduate, Casado grew up less than an hour outside Barcelona. This is the team he supports and loves, and to think he would happily leave is folly.

It’s minutes that he wants, and there’s no saying a Frenkie De Jong or Pedri injury doesn’t open the door for him to get into the starting XI once again.
If Wolves could get this deal done, it would be a phenomenal pickup. Casado has all the technical ability and football IQ you would expect from a La Masia graduate.
But would he leave his boyhood club to join Wolves? This writer doubts it.
