Manuel Akanji now on verge of Manchester City exit – Agreement close for transfer

According to a claim in the Turkish media, Galatasaray are close to getting a deal over the line for Manchester City defender Manuel Akanji.

Yesterday the 30-year-old was linked with a move to the Super Lig champions after reports his agent was travelling to Istanbul to hold talks. It was also reported an offer had been tabled by the Turkish side.

Yagiz Sabuncuoglu reports on the latest in Gala’s pursuit for the Manchester City player and states the two clubs are close to an agreement. The Swiss international has also been offered personal terms by CImbom, but no details have disclosed.

Earlier today the Turkish journalist reported Galatasaray were set for negotiations with Manchester City Sporting Director Hugo Viana. It was claimed an official from Galatasaray had travelled to England with the objective to speed up transfer talks.

Akanji made 40 appearances in all competitions last season and is contracted to Manchester City until June 2027.

However, it seems the Premier League side are looking to cash in him this summer and a move to the Super Lig looks close.
