West Ham United have made an improved offer of £32m including add-ons for Southampton midfielder Mateus Fernandes, according to Guardian journalist Jacob Steinberg.
The Irons previously saw an offer of £28m + £2m in add-ons rejected by the south coast outfit, with West Ham upping their bid by £2m upfront.

West Ham are determined to land the Saints midfielder before the deadline on September 1 as manager Graham Potter looks to boost his options in the middle of the park.
However, the latest proposal is unlikely to be enough to convince the Championship club to sell, as they demand £50m for their prized asset.
