Nottingham Forest are busy trying to put the finishing touches on their squad for the 2025/26 campaign.
The Reds have been extremely busy since the weekend, with Brentford’s 3-1 win sandwiched between some big transfer deals.
Omari Hutchinson signed for Forest from Ipswich to start the ball rolling, with James McAtee also checking in from Manchester City.
On Monday, Arnaud Kalimuendo joined from Rennes and the squad is now starting to look well-stocked, particularly in the final third.
Douglas Luiz is on his way to Forest, and all that really remains is for the club to seek some new full-backs.
However, that is proving easier said than done with Forest suffering a bit of a blow in the transfer market regarding a player who had been heavily linked with a City Ground switch.

Rico Lewis to sign new Manchester City contract
It was claimed last week that Forest were going all in for Lewis but now the player is set to pledge his future with the Champions League outfit.
According to the Daily Mail, the player is set to sign a new five-year deal to remain at the Etihad Stadium and end Forest’s long-standing interest in the talented youngster.
MORE FOREST STORIES
Lewis played for City against Wolves on Saturday and registered his first assist of the season by teeing up Erling Haaland during a 4-0 win.
The 20-year-old is now going to remain at City for the long term and that has ended Forest’s interest in the player as they look to create depth for the full-back spots.
Forest need to turn attentions elsewhere quickly
There will most certainly be irons in the fire at Forest and there won’t be anyone dwelling on the decision made by Lewis to pen a new contract.
Lewis would have been a stellar addition to the Forest ranks, but ultimately, he feels that his development is now best served at City.
Forest have left no stone unturned this summer to bolster the squad and the participation in the Europa League has certainly helped attract players.
It’s no real surprise that Lewis has decided to stay at City and now it’s vital that Forest move on and get another full-back added to the ranks.
