Arsenal eye Villa ace who plays in 4 positions after Havertz knock, Arteta spoke with him on Tue

Arsenal are considering signing Aston Villa attacker Morgan Rogers after Kai Havertz picked up a knee injury, according to the Sun.

The Villa star has been on the radar of the Gunners for a while, and a swoop could be on the cards after the blow to the German.

However, the Villa Park club do not want to sell Rogers and will demand nothing less than £80 million from Arsenal or other suitors for his services.

The 23-year-old has attracted the North London club because of his versatility, as he can play across all four advanced positions in manager Mikel Arteta’s preferred formation.

The Arsenal boss spoke with the Villa star on Tuesday night, personally congratulating him when he received his PFA Young Player of the Year award.

The England international was in fine form last term, bagging eight goals and 11 assists in 37 Premier League games.

Rogers also weighed in with six goals and five assists in other competitions, and a move to Arsenal could appeal to him.

The Gunners have been regular challengers for the Premier League title in each of the last three seasons and they are also playing in the Champions League.

Rogers knows playing and performing well in the elite European competition will boost his chances of making the Three Lions squad to the World Cup next year.

However, he will need guarantees of regular playing chances to agree to a move to Arsenal as remaining with Villa could be more appealing if that is not on the cards at North London.
