Manchester City have just reached an agreement over a transfer fee for a key member of Pep Guardiola’s squad.
The Premier League giants are currently focused on reducing the size of their squad before the summer transfer window shuts, as that is a request their manager has made since the end of the previous season.
The Manchester club have made great strides in this department recently, with Claudio Echeverri set to join Bayer Leverkusen on loan, while Jack Grealish completed a temporary switch to Everton, and James McAtee joined Nottingham Forest as part of a £30m deal.
Man City are now closing in on another sale, as an agreement over a transfer fee has just been reached with a big European club.

It was reported that Victor Osimhen called Akanji to convince him to join Galatasaray, and that seems to have worked, as the Swiss star looks set to start a new chapter in his career.
This exit will go down well with fans of the Manchester club, who believe Akanji’s time at Man City is up following a poor season last time around.
Manuel Akanji’s move to Man City was a success
Although last season was a tough one for Akanji, overall, the signing of the defender was a success for Man City.
The centre-back was acquired from Borussia Dortmund during the summer of 2022 for just £15m, and the Swiss star went on to play a key role in City winning the Treble during the 22/23 campaign, which justified his fee alone.
Akanji played 48 times that season across several positions and ended the campaign with one goal, one assist, and multiple medals.
Three years later, Man City are selling the 30-year-old for the same fee they acquired him for, which means his spell at the Etihad Stadium has been a successful one.
