Philadelphia Eagles guard Kenyon Green has not had the easiest of times since joining the team, but he might find a way onto the roster. Maybe the way he wanted to, but he's got his foot in the door at least.
There's been much talk about the offensive line for the Eagles, thanks to the injury concern with starting left guard Landon Dickerson. The meniscus injury Dickerson suffered has him out with the possibility of missing Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys.
Bleeding Green Nation Eagles reporter Brandon Lee Gowton wrote in his training camp observations for Tuesday's practice how Green is getting reps and might be on his way to making the roster, but it isn't because of anything he has done.
"Kenyon Green lined up at second-team left guard. He might make the team after all due to the combination of Dickerson’s injury and other backup offensive linemen struggling. Trevor Keegan did rotate in at second-team LG."
Green still needs to earn the trust of the Eagles fan base and coaching staff
Training camp has not been smooth for Green as he had been going back and forth between the second and third teams. He got injured in the first preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals which made him miss time.
Green is back at it, trying to do his best to give the Eagles the depth needed on the line. He's sitting behind Brett Toth, who has been the first team left guard in place of Dickerson.
Some might have thought it should be Green since the Eagles traded for him in the offseason from the Houston Texans, and he was a former first-round pick. Inconsistent play and durability issues hindered Green from being a great lineman in the NFL during the first part of his career in Houston.
At one point, it looked like Green might not even make the roster, but other linemen have struggled on offense as well. Keegan is an example of someone who might have played his way off the roster.

Green must look at this as an opportunity to make himself valuable to the Eagles and prove why they traded for him. Friday's game against the New York Jets will be a good test to see how much he has improved since the beginning of camp.
