Newcastle United have reportedly made a new Yoane Wissa bid.

The Brentford star’s future is intertwined with Alexander Isak, with widespread reports suggesting Newcastle could sanction an exit for the Swede should Wissa be signed.

Wissa has wiped all references to Brentford from his Instagram, going as far as unfollowing the club entirely.

The 28-year-old feels that he had assurances he would be able to depart this summer, having previously stayed on due to Ivan Toney’s departure last summer.

Now Ben Jacobs has reported that the Magpies have made an official bid for the Bees forward, worth approximately £35m+add-ons :

“Newcastle make a £35m+add-ons offer to Brentford for Yoane Wissa. Wissa has made it clear to Newcastle he wants the move.”

It does not come as great news as the Bees reportedly remain adamant that the forward is not for sale unless their hefty valuation – believed to be in excess of £60million – is met in full.

The London club is said to be firm on the fact that they will only consider selling the forward if their steep asking price.

Wissa, who was omitted from the squad that lost 3-1 to Nottingham Forest in their Premier League opener, has not been training with his teammates.

Head coach Keith Andrews admitted the player was not in the “right mindset” to participate.

The striker scored 19 Premier League goals last season without taking a single penalty – the highest tally for any non-penalty-taking striker in the division.

His arrival would provide the cover Eddie Howe desperately needs after Callum Wilson’s departure and with Isak’s future remaining uncertain.

Meanwhile, Sky Sports have reported that Isak is, as expected, not in training in the build-up to facing Liverpool.

He is not expected to feature against the Reds at St James’ Park this coming Monday.
