Manchester City have reportedly made a decision regarding the future of Rico Lewis.
The 20-year-old has proven to be one of the major positives from a homegrown standpoint in recent years having established himself in Pep Guardiola's first-team squad.
A total of five goals and 10 assists have come from 95 appearances in all competitions, Lewis also becoming an England international during that period.
However, in recent days, reports have indicated that Nottingham Forest are interested in signing the versatile full-back.
Lewis, himself, has insisted that he remains committed to Man City and has only ever thought about a long career at the Etihad Stadium.

Man City make decision on Lewis future
Nevertheless, Man City officials have shown in the past that they are willing to cash in on their academy graduates should a suitable proposal be made or if the player is not deemed to have a future at the club.
In this instance, The Athletic reports that Man City have moved fast to try to extend the contract of Lewis.
Although he already has terms in place until 2028, it is alleged that City are pushing to hand Lewis a deal until the end of 2029-30 with a pay-rise.
Furthermore, the new contract would not include a release clause, something that could have proven adventurous to either party in the future.
Barring any unforeseen hold-ups, a quick agreement is anticipated in what would be a notable boost to City as they bid to make a fast start to the new Premier League campaign.

A major piece of business for Man City
Having found himself in and out of a City side that failed to produce on a consistent basis in 2024-25, some City supporters may have been in favour of generating at least £30m for Lewis.
All things considered, though, this would be a necessary piece of business for the club who cannot afford to lose any more homegrown talent from a Premier League and UEFA registration perspective.
Lewis' versatility is also a major plus to Guardiola, the player able to be deployed at right-back, left-back and in central midfield when required.
The time may come where Lewis is not necessarily regarded as first choice at right-back, yet the player has given every indication that he will remain committed to his boyhood club.
