Liverpool have been at the centre of plenty of transfer deals throughout the summer window.
The Reds have spent over £250million on improving their ranks thus far, and to be quite frank, it doesn’t look like they’re stopping there.
Indeed, there are only one or two more areas within Arne Slot’s team that could still do with bolstering, but if the Dutchman manages to pull off acquisitions for both, the Reds could be in for a treat.

They’ve already brought in the likes of Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike; however, with the recent rumours that have started to circulate regarding the Anfield outfit’s recruitment, Liverpool could be in for another dominant season.
Joe Cole can’t understand why Alexander Isak hasn’t signed for Liverpool yet
Alexander Isak is one of the main names to have been linked with an Anfield switch this summer.
The striker was signed by Newcastle for around £60million a few years ago, and even though the Sweden international still has three years left on his deal at St James’ Park, he wants out, with Liverpool the next team that he wants to play for.
And, while speaking on the Hayters TV Podcast, former Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole gave his thoughts on the transfer saga that has occurred over the last few weeks.
“I just think Liverpool are just the best side at the moment,” he said.
MORE LIVERPOOL STORIES
“The best chance the other teams have is that if Liverpool have a slow start because there’s a lot of change. By the end of the season, I expect them to be motoring.”
Cole was then asked his thoughts about Isak’s potential move to Liverpool and said the following: “Everyone has been saying that deal will be done tomorrow for the last 10 days.
“I expect them to get him. I don’t know what the holdup is.”
Liverpool still need some time to gel their first-team squad together
Although the additions that Liverpool have made so far will have no doubt improved their ranks tenfold, the fact that so many new players have been introduced means that they’ll need some time to gel.
Indeed, there have been one or two success stories, such as Ekitike, who have taken like a duck to water, but others, such as Milos Kerkez and Wirtz, have struggled to settle in at Liverpool thus far.
Of course, the Reds have only played two competitive games this term, and there’s still plenty of time for things to get turned around and send Liverpool flying up the table.
However, if they don’t manage to gel and they end up losing the odd game here and there, it could put them in a rather sketchy position in terms of trying to retain the Premier League title.

This is why it feels essential for Slot to get his players to gel as soon as possible, with harmony among the squad also being another reason why the Reds need to finalise their signings as soon as possible.
Of course, only time will tell if Isak will become a Liverpool player or not, but with the way things have panned out thus far, it’s hard to see how reintegration at Newcastle is even a possibility.
