Robert Sanchez tells Spanish media which Chelsea players are the most important

Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez has named Cole Palmer and Enzo Fernandez as the two most important players in the Blues squad.

[ESPN Deportes](https://espndeportes.espn.com/futbol/inglaterra/nota/_/id/15568401/robert-sanchez-chelsea-premier-league-mundial-clubes-hambre-mas) cover comments from Sanchez today after he was asked various questions about Chelsa.

The Blues are expected to be contenders this season after winning the Club World Cup in the summer with an impressive victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the final.

That followed their win in the Europa Conference League last season, which marked a winning first season under Enzo Maresca, who also led them to a top four finish and back into the Champions League.

He appears to have found a winning formula and is getting best out of several of the players he inherited when he joined Chelsea from Leicester last summer.

Fernandez is certainly one of those, establishing himself as a key part of Chelsea’s midfield after previously struggling following a big money move from Benfica.

No such improvement was needed for Palmer, although he still managed 18 goals and 14 assists in 52 games under the Italian manager last season. Sanchez certainly believes in both, naming them as Chelsea’s most important duo.

“Cole Palmer and Enzo Fernández are two amazing players,” he said.

“Palmer on the field is a role model, with impressive quality that can carry you through a match. He’s a star; he’s quiet. Enzo is different; he has quality and consistency, and off the field, he’s one of the captains.

“Enzo Fernández is young, but it’s not about youth; it’s about how you work and act day in and day out, and that’s why he deserves to be one of the captains. It’s a young team, but one that aspires to great things.”
