John Wall just announced his retirement from the NBA, and he leaves behind a career he should be really proud of.
He did a lot on the court during his 11 seasons and inspired many players who came after him, including Julius Randle.
Following the news of Wall’s retirement, Randle hopped on social media to give Wall big praise and talk about the impact he had on him.
“The reason I wanted to go to UK [Kentucky] .. hell of a career killa!!” Randle posted on X.

If it weren’t for Wall, Randle would have never chosen to go to school at Kentucky, and who knows what sort of future would have been waiting for him?
Wall was a huge star during college, and many young basketball fans were watching him with awe, hoping to be just like him someday.
Wall was drafted in 2010, and Randle joined the league just a few years later, in 2014.
They may be built differently and their play styles may not be the same, but Wall set the stage for Randle and worked as a great inspiration for him.
Now that Wall is gone, more and more people are coming out to talk about how great he was and what he meant to them.
Because his team never found the success they wanted, some younger basketball fans might not know just how influential he was.
But during his peak, Wall was one of the most fearsome stars in the NBA, and he created havoc against just about everyone he battled.
Randle definitely isn’t the only NBA figure to have been influenced and touched by the way that Wall played.
