Newcastle have seen a bid turned down for a potential Alexander Isak replacement, as the saga surrounding the Swede rumbles on.
Today’s Main LFC Headline
On Tuesday evening, Isak released an explosive statement claiming Newcastle had “broken promises” with him, demanding a summer exit.
The Magpies are remaining as subborn as ever, however, with Sky Sports’ Keith Downie saying the 25-year-old will be “staying” put at St James’ Park.
That said, Newcastle signing a striker could change things, but The Athletic‘s David Ornstein says they have seen an offer of £35 million plus add-ons for Brentford striker Yoane Wissa rejected.

Much like Isak, Wissa wants to leave his current club, but the Bees are holding out for more money, valuing him at £60 million.
The next step in the saga arguably feels like an improved second offer from Liverpool for Isak, in order to hopefully sway Newcastle‘s thinking.
For now, though, nothing drastic is changing, and this Wissa bid being rejected isn’t of much help to the Reds.

We have spoken to renowned singer Jamie Webster to hear about his life, discussing how his love of Liverpool helped his career take off.
“Massively. It put me ahead in the first instance because I had loads of people waiting to hear from me, so it was great and I’m very grateful for it.
“And that’s why I still come back and do the odd Liverpool show at the end of the year and stuff like that, to give back to that.”

On this day in 2004, Liverpool completed the double signing of Xabi Alonso and Luis Garcia.
Alonso arrived as a highly-rated £10.7 million midfielder from Real Sociedad, while Garcia joined from Barcelona for £6 million.
The Spanish pair were hugely popular figures, with both playing a key role in Liverpool winning the Champions League in their first season.
Alonso remains one of the Reds’ best-ever midfield imports, while Garcia’s ability to pop up in big games – Chelsea in the Champions League semi-final, in particular – makes him much-loved to this day.
