Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana sparked a bit of controversy on Wednesday with his social media activity, fuelling some speculation surrounding his future.
Fofana deleted all mentions of Chelsea from his social media, despite there being no real talk of unhappiness or interest in signing him from another club.
The Frenchman has been hit with a terrible run of injuries since he made the move from Leicester City, playing a small amount of games in the three seasons he has been at the club.
He was not registered in the squad for either the Conference League or Club World Cup, and therefore would have felt the ramifications despite the celebrations for the Blues.

Previously there has been talk of Fofana wanting to join Marseille, however with no reports of any discontent behind the scenes, the move caught Chelsea supporters off guard.
Some of that speculation has perhaps been put to bed though by the Frenchman’s latest Instagram story. He posted a picture of himself in training with the caption: “Focus on Friday”.
He sat on the bench for the Premier League opener against Crystal Palace, however Fofana has been tipped to return soon after a summer of rehabilitation.
He will be looking to replace Josh Acheampong after his impressive performance up against Jean-Philippe Mateta.

Maresca keeping faith in Fofana
Mauricio Pochettino was unable to call upon the defender in his entire time in charge at Stamford Bridge, however the new manager has already become a fan of his.
Enzo Maresca has kept faith in Fofana though, continuing to praise him whenever he gets the chance.
Maresca reportedly has Fofana in his top three favourites at Chelsea, and sees his best partnership involving him and Levi Colwill, who is set to miss the majority of the season due to his own injury concern.
There is going to be a reliance on Fofana to step up in the England international’s absence, and it would be the perfect time to turnaround some growing frustration surrounding his fitness with a clean bill of health this season.
