LAKE FOREST, Ill., — The Chicago Bears are rewarding backup quarterback Tyson Bagent with a new deal ahead of the 2025 NFL season. Per Mark Carman of CHGO, the Bears and Bagent have agreed on a contract extension.
The deal is for two years at $10M, which can be worth up to $16M with incentives. It will keep Bagent in Chicago through the 2027 season.
The undrafted quarterback signed with the Bears following the 2023 NFL draft out of Shepherd. He quickly beat out P.J. Walker for the backup job in training camp and appeared in five games, starting four of them in his rookie season. He appeared in four games last season, backing up Caleb Williams.
Bagent has established himself as one of the top backups in the league over the past few seasons.
