Nottingham Forest have reportedly made an approach to sign Sevilla defender Jose Angel Carmona.
The East Midlands outfit made the ideal start to the new Premier League campaign last weekend with a 3-1 victory over Brentford.
Either side of that success, Forest secured deals for James McAtee, Omari Hutchinson and Arnaud Kalimuendo to make it seven first-team additions for the summer transfer window.
However, as stated by head coach Nuno Espirito Santo on Friday, he is eager to strengthen his options in the full-back area.
Manchester City's Rico Lewis had allegedly been a target before it became apparent that the England international would be extending his contract at the Etihad Stadium.

Who is Jose Angel Carmona?
According to El Chiringuito, Forest have pressed ahead with trying to sign an alternative in Carmona.
The 23-year-old has come through the academy ranks at Sevilla to make 54 appearances in the first team, while he has experience from loan spells elsewhere.
Carmona has also represented Elche and Getafe, taking his outings in La Liga to 86 matches with four goals and two assists.
Also a three-cap Spain Under-21 international, Carmona can play across the backline, albeit being more recognised as a right-back.
Forest have reportedly proposed a fee of €9m (£7.8m) with a further €2m (£1.73m) potentially being due in add-ons. A 15% sell-on clause is also said to have been included in the proposal.
Despite Carmona having three years remaining on his contract, Sevilla are seemingly open to a sale for the right price.

Ideal signing for Forest?
Nuno currently has a total of eight players who he will view as potential starters in the defence, particularly when their Europa League schedule gets underway in September.
Adding Carmona to those options would add extra nous and versatility to the squad when the games could come thick and fast, Forest already viewed as one of the favourites to win the competition.
Despite only having experience of playing in Spanish football, Carmona has the potential to develop into a regular first-teamer at the Forest Ground.
