Chelsea fans give their verdict on Wesley Fofana saga, brutal message sent

Despite very little talk of a potential transfer or unhappiness at Chelsea, one player has put supporters on red alert with his social media antics.

Wesley Fofana has deleted all references to Chelsea from his Instagram page, fuelling speculation that there may be some discontent at his situation.

Fofana has endured an injury-hit time since his move to Stamford Bridge, and was unable to be named in the squad for either the Conference League or Club World Cup, competitions the Blues won both of.

This will no doubt have been a source of frustration for the defender, who has been pushing hard to return to full fitness in time for the start of the 2025/26 season.

Fofana made the bench for the Premier League opener against Crystal Palace, and had to watch from the sidelines as Josh Acheampong impressed with his performance.

Chelsea fans were quick to react to the defender’s social media antics, and did not offer a glowing review of a player who has been so unavailable due to injury.

One user said: “Not the same Wesley Fofana whose played about five games in five years removing Chelsea out of his social media platforms. Grow up and keep yourself fit buddy.”

Another added: “There is always something going on with this guy. I’ve backed Fofana to make come backs but the non-stop antics are frustrating. Understandbly been a tough time with the non-stop injuries at CFC, so I’m sure it’s not easy mentally, but damn. I wonder what this means this time…”

A third claimed: “Fofana has seen the drama going on with Isak & Wissa around social media and suddenly decides to continue the trend whilst we’ve been relatively calm as a club for the first time in about 3 years. Honestly what do you gain out of it? It’s only going to bring more speculation.”

Another user stated: “No one would have cared about Wesley Fofana if Colwil and Tosin weren’t injured. Won trophies without him and tbh he’s not the defender he thinks he is.”

Finally, one user said: “I always liked Wesley Fofana and always thought we’d sign him. He could still have a future here if he could stay fit and find his best form. I thought he was so poor before his last injury, always put of position and the clear weak link. I wouldn’t be against selling him.”

Fofana dreams of move to one club

Despite being on very good money at Chelsea, and the club being patient with him through his multiple injury issues, he has made it no secret he would love a move elsewhere at some stage of his career.

Fofana has admitted he’d love to play for Marseille at some point, however at this point it was determined that this was a move for later in his career.

While there are no current transfer links involving the defender, it will be interesting to see if anything crops up as a result of his social media activity.
