Rodrygo appears to be edging closer to a Premier League move, with [Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c5KL1Wb2F-Q&ab_channel=CanaldoNicola) reporting that the Real Madrid forward is now expected to leave for England.
According to the exclusive information shared on his YouTube channel, the two frontrunners for the 23-year-old are Liverpool and Manchester City.
Nicola claims that Pep Guardiola has been pursuing Rodrygo for some time, and Manchester City’s interest could be linked to a potential exit for Savinho, who has been targeted by Tottenham.
However, Liverpool have recently entered the race with firm intent, reportedly seeing Rodrygo as a direct replacement for Luis Díaz, who has also been linked with a move away from Anfield.
The situation at Real Madrid has deteriorated for the Brazilian following Xabi Alonso’s appointment as manager. Rodrygo did not feature in Madrid’s La Liga opener against Osasuna on Tuesday, remaining on the bench throughout the 1-0 win. This has only fuelled speculation that his departure is imminent.
Still under contract until June 2028, the forward is valued at around €90m (£76m). Despite the price tag, both Manchester City and Liverpool are presented as willing to push for a deal, with the player’s next destination a two-horse race between the two Premier League giants, according to Jorge Nicola.
