A reporter took Cleveland Browns star Myles Garrett by surprise Wednesday with an off-topic question about his recent speeding incident.
On August 9, Garrett was reportedly cited for driving 100 miles per hour in a 60 mph zone. This incident, as noted by Cleveland.com reporter Mary Kay Cabot, was the eighth time Garrett has been cited for speeding in the area since the Browns drafted him in 2017. Most notably, Garrett’s latest speeding violation was three years after he flipped his Porsche over multiple times while speeding and swerving to avoid an animal in the rode. At the time, the star defensive end called the crash a “wake-up call.”
While taking questions from the media Wednesday, Garrett received a bizarre one about the his history with speeding.
“What is it like to be in that car and seeing that speedometer creeping up to more than 100 miles an hour?” a reporter asked him.
Garrett declined to answer and said he would “rather talk about football and this team than anything I’m doing off the field.”
Still, the reporter pressed on.
“But still,” he said, “I mean, people want to know about that.”
Garrett, however, wasn’t budging.
“People want to know a lot of things,” Garrett said.
