Alexander Isak has been linked with a move away from Newcastle United all summer, and he wants to join Liverpool.
Alexander Isak has made it clear that he wants to join Liverpool in the summer transfer window, and the Reds are interested in securing a signature. The Swede has already shown his quality with Newcastle United, and he has helped them win a domestic trophy and secure Champions League qualification.
This is the right time for the Swedish international to move on and try out a bigger challenge. Joining the Premier League champions will be exciting for him. However, Newcastle United have not allowed him to move on.
Alexander Isak has now sent out a statement on Instagram claiming that the relationship between the player and the club cannot continue after broken promises. The Newcastle United hierarchy is surprised by his antics, and his social media stunt has not gone down well with them, as per TBR Football. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops.
Graeme Bailey said, “Newcastle are unmoved by Isak’s statement, but that’s not to say they were happy with it – they really weren’t. I am told the club’s bosses were far from happy with what he said, but it did not shock them.
“They don’t agree with what he said, but they were not surprised either. The club do insist they do not want to sell. However, they are still doing work on multiple fronts to bring in more than one striker.
“But Newcastle have seen their move for Yoane Wissa stall, and although he was always seen as the Callum Wilson replacement, the fact they haven’t got him in yet just makes the chances of Isak moving all the less likely.
“I would point out that Isak’s deal was never going to be done before Monday’s clash between the two sides, so once that is out of the way, we may hear more next week. I actually do expect Liverpool to make a fresh move, but that is dependent on what Newcastle do, if anything – but the end of the window is very much on the horizon.”
Newcastle United sent out a strong statement claiming that they do not see any club paying his valuation this summer, and therefore, they are prepared to welcome Alexander Isak back when he decides to return. The player skipped pre-season preparations, and he refused to participate in the opening game of the Premier League season as well. It remains to be seen whether the player can convince the club to sell him.
Alternatively, Newcastle United have failed to bring in quality alternatives this summer and they are under pressure to keep the Swedish Internation now. The Magpies cannot afford to sell their best player without signing a quality replacement.
The situation is quite complicated right now, and it remains to be seen how it unfolds. Liverpool will certainly hope to sign Alexander Isak before the window closes. They are looking for more offensive firepower, and the Swedish International could be the ideal acquisition. The player wants to move as well, but Newcastle have been adamant.
Forcing the 25-year-old striker to stay at the club against his wishes could be a huge risk for Newcastle United. Isak’s performances might not be up to the mark, and his value will drop in the coming months as well.
