Barça Femení Aim to Secure Future of Key Duo Amid Squad Changes

[Mundo Deportivo](https://www.mundodeportivo.com/futbol/fc-barcelona/20250820/1002517764/renovaciones-claudia-pina-cata-coll-2028-caer.html) reports that FC Barcelona are looking to extend the contracts of Claudia Pina and Cata Coll. After a summer that has seen several departures and fewer arrivals, Barça are prioritizing keeping key figures at the club, including the goalkeeper and forward.

Next season, Barça will compete on four fronts. The club insists the squad is ready, but challenges lie ahead as they aim to reclaim the Women’s Champions League and maintain their dominance in Liga F.

Over the next ten months, eight players’ contracts will expire — and many are central to the squad. Marta Torrejón, Mapi León, Salma Paralluelo, Caroline Graham Hansen, Alexia Putellas and Ona Batlle are all tied to the club until June 2026. If negotiations go well, Pina and Coll’s deals will be among the first to be extended, keeping them at the club until 2028. The aim is not only to secure top talent but also to bring stability to the dressing room.

Fridolina Rolfö and Jana Fernández have both left the club. The Swedish international’s departure during Women’s EURO 2025 came as a surprise — her contract had been due to run until 2026. Shortly after, Rolfö signed for Manchester United.

Rolfö, 31, often plays either as a full-back or on the wing. During her time in Spain, she won four Liga F titles, two Women’s Champions Leagues, three Copas de la Reina, and four Spanish Super Cups. She has also previously been linked with Malmö FF.

Meanwhile, 23-year-old Spanish defender Jana Fernández joined [WSL](https://womenfootball.blog/womens-super-league-table-standings/) newcomers London City Lionesses. Comfortable at both right-back and centre-back, Fernández rose through Barça’s youth system before making her first-team debut in November 2018 at just 16, becoming the second-youngest player to debut since the team turned professional.
