Ousmane Dembele may well be the best player in the world at the moment.
Indeed, after a staggering season for PSG that culminated in a Champions League win, Ousmane Dembele is among the favourites for the Ballon d’Or this year.
Mohamed Salah is a Ballon d’Or contender too, but, at the moment, Dembele may well be the frontrunner.
Interestingly, Dembele has been speaking to the Ballon d’Or’s TikTok page, and he’s made an interesting claim about one former Liverpool striker amid his head-to-head battle with Mohamed Salah for this year’s Golden Ball.

Ousmane Dembele makes Luis Suarez finishing claim
Dembele was playing a game where he had to choose which attributes he’d most like to take from certain players.
For example, Dembele was asked if he’d rather take free-kicks like Roberto Carlos or Juninho Pernambucano.
Eventually, Dembele was asked to choose between Luis Suarez and Erling Haaland’s finishing ability, and he gave an interesting answer.
Dembele ultimately picked Suarez’s finishing over Haaland’s, and that is an interesting call to make.
Luis Suarez’s Premier League stats compared to Erling Haaland
Of course, it’s not easy to compare two players from different eras who’ve spent their careers playing for different teams.
However, both Suarez and Haaland have played plenty of football in the Premier League, and when you look at the numbers, it has to be said that Haaland is the better finisher.

87 Goals 69
17 Assists 25

In terms of overall ability, Suarez probably does edge this conversation. After all, he was an incredible dribbler who could create just as well as he could score.
However, when it comes to simply putting the ball in the back of the net, the Premier League hasn’t really seen a player as dominant as Haaland before.
Dembele is one of the world’s best attackers, but Haaland may well be the best finisher in the world today.
